London Buses route 97 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. The service is currently contracted to and operated by East London.

HistoryEdit

Although today's 97 commenced operation on 19 November 1988 as a daily service between Chingford Station and Leyton (Downsell Road) via Chingford Mount, Walthamstow, Walthamstow Central Station, Bakers Arms and Leyton High Road. It is actually descended from a daily route 97 that commenced operation on 31 January 1981 along with a Monday to Saturday supplementary service 97A.
