What's "the behind the wiki" in "You can also join the behind the wiki on Facebook"? Robin Patterson 05:29, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I´m sorry, i don't get your question. We have a Facebook group if that's what you mean? --BG7 12:34, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
It's slightly obvious that you have a Facebook group. I'm a member of a few dozen myself, and I promote Wikia sites in some. That's not what I asked about. I'm asking about the apparently meaningless words in between "You can also join" and "on Facebook". I know that some people (such as you) may at first see nothing odd in the words "the behind the wiki", but people who understand proper English and like to understand what they read may be put off your wiki by such apparent nonsense. Try to avoid having stuff on your main page that might put people off! Those people might be the very people you want to join and improve your wiki. (While you're fixing that sentence so that it makes sense, please go up a couple of lines and fix the two errors in "The UK Transport wiki is place where everyone's welcome, and every vistor can edit".) Kind regards. Robin Patterson 04:15, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Why direct tram stuff to Tram Wiki but not road stuff to UK Roads? Robin Patterson 05:29, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

We haven't been asked to. And we have links in the sidebar anyway. --BG7 12:34, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I see that one link now. OK, that's possibly enough. No point having two Wikia sites duplicating work when they could just use links. Robin Patterson 04:15, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
No worries. If you want us to add one we can? That 's exactly why we're using the links... to avoid dupilcation! (Redirects are just as easy to make, and i'm looking at a better way... and of course there are Interwiki links!). Cheers, 16:53, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Plus also in monobook it has UK Railway Wiki Kentish121@ UK Transport 17:52, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Caution Edit

Nice to see a new broom active! But a bit of caution when importing from another wiki. Readers of this one don't really want to be led to the leaderboard for a "1991..." (Cold war era) wiki. Probably they don't even want to see the number of noneditors or a meaningless "3,263" or be told more than once "Number of Views: 0 ". (Maybe that last one is a good thing until the main page gets a bit more checking!!) -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 01:11, December 17, 2016 (UTC)
